4 month stats: 18 lbs 12 oz, 26.5 inches. Parker is now out of his infant carrier and into a big boy car seat. He’s growing up so fast! He can roll front to back and back to front - did that for the first time just before turning 4 months. Parker just had his first Christmas! He had lots of fun sitting in his Jumparoo watching all of the chaos. We didn’t hear a peep out of him the entire time we opened gifts. He just loves watching his big brother and his cousins. He thinks they are all the best. For Christmas this year, Parker got his first tooth! It’s on the bottom. It was discovered when he bit grandpa -and it hurt! We just got back from Big Bear where we celebrated the new year with Aunt Marci and Uncle John and the cousins.

Parker had his 2 month check-up today (at 2 1/2 months). He weighed 16 lbs 8 oz and was 25 inches long. Basically, he’s huge! When his doctor saw how well he held up his head and how he held himself up when he was on his tummy, she said it was more like the way a 4 month old would. I’m guessing it’s mostly because of his size. He got 4 shots in his legs. Poor little guy. He cried a little then took a long nap. Hopefully he’ll be in good spirits tonight and not too sore.

Parker has been trying so hard to suck his thumb for the past week. Yesterday he finally got his thumb in his mouth and sucked. Go Parker! He’s also holding on to his pacifier a little longer these days. He still isn’t great at either activity, but he so wants to be. Parker’s life is still pretty boring. He lays around, eats, sleeps, poops, repeat…. He’s smiling a lot, which is fun. He’s starting to enjoy being in his bouncy seat with the activity bar, he likes the music and lights and looking at the toys (when he’s in the mood of course).

Wow, I’m bad about posting (how many times have I said that before!) Camden is already over 6 weeks old. I can’t believe how fast the time is going by. He started smiling just after 3 weeks and that has been so cool! I love when he looks in my eyes and gives me a big grin. Sometimes he even makes a happy little noise when he smiles, almost like a giggle. It’s so great to hear! He’s already growing up so fast. He’s grown out of the 0-3 month clothes. I stuffed him in his cute little outfits as long as I could Brian weighed himself with and without holding Parker and determined that Parker is about 13.5 lbs already (I think that was sometime last week). He’s still sleeping a lot during the day and when he is awake he really likes to be held. He has days where he will lay on the floor happy for a little bit but it never lasts too long. He really just wants to snuggle all the time. He likes his pacifier, but still doesn’t do too good at keeping it in. We can’t wait until he can hold it in his mouth longer! He has started sleeping a little longer at night without needing to eat. He’s been going 5-6 hours the first stretch after we put him to bed. Of course, we’ve been putting him and Camden down around the same so most of that long sleeping stretch I’m still awake. Oh well. He still doesn’t do too much, so I guess that’s all I have to report for now!

Poor little Parker has his first stuffy nose. It isn’t too bad so far but we did have to suction the little buggers out last night. Lets just say he didn’t really enjoy that! Things are still going really well. Mommy and Daddy aren’t completely sleep deprived which is nice (though we really wouldn’t complain if we got a tad more sleep!) For the most part Parker is really good natured. Obviously he cries sometimes, but hey, he’s a baby! So far he doesn’t spit up nearly as much as his big brother, but I don’t remember when Camden started that. I guess there’s still time. He did have a pretty impressive spit up yesterday which left the floor under his swing covered in a big puddle and his clothes all wet. Such fun! I’m sure there’s more to say, but I don’t really remember what at the moment.

There’s so much to add since my last post! I’m sure I won’t get to it all but I’ll try to hit the big stuff. Parker Reid Scott was born via repeat c-section on Wednesday August 15, 2007. He was 9 lbs 13 oz and 21 inches long. Big boy! We can only imagine how big he would have been if he had gone to term. The surgery went really well. Parker came out screaming and I started Crying. I saw him for just a second before they took him to get cleaned up and weighed and all that good stuff. Before leaving the OR they brought him over to me and I was able to give him a little hug and a kiss. They took him to the NICU and gave him a bath and he was in my room by the time I was out of surgery. I got to hold him and nurse him right away which was really nice. With Camden we didn’t even try to nurse until the next day, he was too sleepy. Parker nursed every couple of hours the entire first day. The boy loves to eat We were in the hospital until Saturday. Now we are home and everyone is doing well and adjusting well. Parker is a good sleeper which is really nice for mommy and daddy!! We’ve had a couple of times at night when it’s been tough to put him back to sleep after he’s woken up to nurse, but overall, he’s done really well (especially compared to some stories I’ve heard from other new moms!) I feel very blessed for the amount of sleep I’m able to get at night. Daddy has been taking Parker downstairs after his first morning feeding and hands him off to Grandma and they let me sleep a little longer. So nice! I had a quick appt with my OB yesterday just to look at the incision and make sure it was okay (it is). Parker goes to the pediatrician next week, I’ll post his stats when we know them. Keep watching the photo gallery, we’re adding new pictures every few days. I tried to add some last night but I’ve been getting an error so I’ll have to play with it and see if I can get them uploaded. There are some really cute pictures of Camden feeding Parker a bottle last night

I’ve been really bad about keeping up on my blogging lately! So, here’s the scoop… I’m 38 weeks along now. I have lots of braxton hicks contractions, but that’s totally normal and not a sign that labor is coming. I’ve been having them for months. They don’t hurt but they do occasionally take my breath away. Baby is getting really big. I had an ultrasound about a week and a half ago and the size estimate was about 9lbs 6oz. I’m guessing that’s a bit high (only based on the last ultrasound before Camden was born, how it was measured, etc.) Of course that was still with a couple weeks before birth so he could certainly end up bigger than his brother was. We’ll find out on Wednesday! Our c-section is scheduled for Wednesday the 15th. We aren’t sure what time yet, but it will probably be in the afternoon, around 1:30 or 2:00. I don’t think we’ll know for sure until Tuesday morning when I have my final OB appt and pre-op labs done. I can’t believe it’s right around the corner! I’ve been busy making lists of all the things I want to get done around the house (only some are really things that need to get done before baby comes - like installing the carseat). Brian keeps laughing at my lists. I’ve really been slowing down lately and have not had too much motivation to want to get out of the house, other than to make Camden happy. I like to stay inside in the heat! My legs and ankles are quite swollen and I’m looking forward to being able to see my ankles again soon (and being able to reach my feet to put on socks or shoes!) Aside from my lists of things to do - which may be getting longer every day rather than shorter - I’ve been working on a scrapbook for Camden’s first year. I’m really having a good time doing it. Even though it is Camden related, I still feel like it’s something for me and I like doing something other than just being a mommy. It’s very therapeutic (except when I can’t seem to figure out how to make a page work - then it’s just frustrating.) Brian has been busy going on lots of SCUBA dives before baby is born. I think he’s really enjoying his new hobby. I got him a dive camera for his birthday (a little early) so now I can see pictures of what he sees when he dives. Last week I dropped our camera (again) and it won’t focus anymore so I quick ordered a new one. Thankfully it arrived quickly and works perfectly so we’ll have it on baby’s birthday. We still have our big one but I figured it would be nicer to have the small camera with us at the hospital. And last, baby finally has a name. We’ve decided to name our new little boy “Parker Reid”. Neither name has any familial significance, we just like it. Look for updates, pictures, emails, etc. after Wednesday. I’m not sure if we’ll get to update from the hospital or not, if we can we will. Otherwise look for updates probably around Saturday or Sunday. Our photo gallery is at http://lizard-lips.com/gallery - this is where the pictures will be once we get them uploaded.

Camden just felt the baby move for the first time. He was sitting next to me and was leaning with his arm on my belly when the baby wiggled. Camden pulled away and started giggling. I told him that it was his baby brother and he lifted up my shirt and looked under it and said something like “not in there”. I think he was really confused that a baby was moving but he couldn’t see it. Then he pointed at my tummy and said “big”. Then proceeded to start playing with his “ball” aka belly button. We got him a big brother book that we will need to start reading with him soon.
